The Artwork

"Sonny" Carter designed the patch for the 1984 class. It is a patch with little symbolism on it. The idea behind the design is that it should be out of the ordinary, one that stood out the crowd. The class members all agreed that a Space Shuttle should be on it. And other than that only 17 stars for each member of the class are shown on the patch.
